Students from W.A. Todd Middle School participated in the HESTEC (Hispanic, Engineering, Science and Technology ) Robotics Day Competition at UTRGV-Brownsville on October 6, 2016. 

After one month and a half of preparation, devoting countless hours and weekends here at school the Robotics Team from Todd MS placed 1st above all the Middle Schools in the Valley and 3rd place overall.  

W.A. Todd Middle School was among 64 schools at UTRGV Brownsville along with Veterans Middle School, Donna High, Donna North that attended HESTEC Robotics Day.   The groups competed by creating programmable robots capable of completing several different tasks.  The robots were tested in four obstacle courses, pull challenge, push challenge, line follower and Grand Prix.

Congratulations to the following students:  Omari Bowen, Gilbert Pena, Joshua Mata, Joseph Oliva, RJ Garcia, Manny Lopez, Jose Torres and their coach Mr. Juan Lopez, 8th grade Math and Robotics teacher at W.A. Todd Middle School. Each student that participated got a medal and the team receive a trophy.
