Caceres Elementary Celebrated International Dot Day on September 15, 2016. This celebration is based on the book “The Dot” by Peter Reynolds and it is a day when educators and students around the world celebrate creative teaching and self-expression.
“The Dot” tells the story of a caring teacher who reaches a reluctant student in a remarkably creative way. Our teachers can relate to this story because daily they must “connect the dots” in their lessons between math, reading, art, science, music etc. to be able to reach all our students. On this day we wore dots, wrote about dots, drew and colored dots, and even ate dots. Our students also participated in long distance video calls with Delco Elementary in Pflugerville ISD and Salazar Elementary in Donna ISD to share the celebration. It was a fun celebration.
